Investigation Report for Keene Springs Inn 03-02-07

Time of Investigation:

Began at 11:04 p.m. and ended at 1:29 a.m.

Solar Conditions:

Solar X-rays are Normal. Geomagnetic fields indicate Quiet.

Moon Phase:

1 day before Full Moon

Weather Conditions:

Clear; temperature in the high 30s.

Description of Location:

Inside private business; set up in gift shop and various rooms upstairs.

Equipment readings:

We had several instances of temperature drops over 10 degrees in several areas of the Inn. However we had no readings on the EMF meter. We had several photos with orbs while Jill was dowsing, and one orb on video.

Investigation Setup:

Sony Nightshot camcorder taken from room to room with us. Digital recorders sitting on table near bathroom, in gift shop and at the top of the stairs. Digital recorders also with team. Sony Mavica Digital Camera. Team with dowsing equipment, and running temperature probes and EMF meter.

History of the Home/Area:

A historical inn dating back to the 1800's. The owner runs a gift shop and restaurant on the property currently, the guest rooms are closed.

Activity Witnessed:

The following instances of paranormal activity were witnessed during our investigation:

We encountered very strong odors of smoke in several different areas
Ed saw a rocking chair in the gift shop rock on its own
Jessi felt a hand on her backside as she was climbing the stairs, right at the same time our team noticed the strong smoke smell for the first time.
Upon entering the small hallway heading toward the bathroom, something grabbed and tugged the camcorder as it hung around my neck on it's strap. It was tugged hard enough to pull it away from my body about 3 to 4 inches.
Jessi had a terrible pain around her left eye for no apparent reason; we don't know if this was paranormal in nature, but we wanted to mention it in the report in case of future findings.
While filming Jill dowsing in the gift shop, the camcorder shut off. I was holding it and operating it manually at the time, and the battery was on 58 minutes when it shut down completely with no warning. I was able to start it up again with no problem. This is the first time this has ever happened in the 3 years that I have had this camcorder.
Ed, Jill and I were upstairs investigating one of the old guest rooms when we encountered the spirit of a woman. During a rather lengthy dowsing session we managed to obtain very little information about this spirit. Her name was Suzannah, she wasn't from Jessamine County, she had 6 children, and she refused to answer questions when we asked about a husband. We kept asking her if we could take her picture, and she would refuse. After awhile Ed said "I'm going to take your picture with Jill" and immediately his ballcap was knocked off his head, sending his cap-mounted flashlight to the floor in pieces.
Ed was startled by a strong vibrating sensation on his left leg while still in the room with Suzannah. He said it felt just like his cell phone when he has the vibrate feature on.
A few minutes later we heard a tapping come from behind Ed, and Jill asked Suzannah if it was her. She replied that it wasn't. Jill then asked if it was her husband or her boyfriend, and we got a male voice saying "Oh Jesus". We think that Suzannah may have been seeing another man here at the Inn, hence her unwillingness to divulge information about either a husband or a male companion.
About 5 minutes later both Jill's and Ed's digital cameras malfunctioned at the same time. Even though they were on they were unable to take photos, the cameras then shut off on their own at the same time.

Investigation Findings:

Upon review of photos, videos and recordings we found several EVP (some too indistinct to be able to use as evidence), several photos with anomolies (including a face in the upstairs window). Evidences can be viewed in our EVP & Photos sections.
